She, like Cinna, made sure that no one would forget the 'girl on fire'. Katniss is an in number character who takes care of her own issues and assumes responsibility of her own life. I've heard a little bit of mumbling about the relationship between Peeta and Katniss. It got too preachy at certain points though, didn't it? Sure, it obviously affects them they're not invincible but they don't lose themselves the way Katniss does. But President Snow has plans for Katniss as he uses Peeta Mallark as his weapon to use against her.

I liked the first book immensely, I also liked the second volume. I like to shoot arrows. This is the Hunger Games summary of the plot. I kindled it early this morning and ignored my kids for 4 hours and got through it.
But don't we all have our moments? She tries to remember what happened before she was rescued from the Quell, but can't quite recapture it. What follows is a series of events that will put Katniss in the spotlight both as a source of hope for the oppressed and as an enemy of the Capitol. But towards the end of this novel, I didn't give a flying fart about Katniss's love life and who she ended up with, because everything seemed like such a hopeless, depressing mess that there was no point.
